Ineos Oligomers has expanded its range of Panalane hydrogenated polybutene with Panalane L-2E.
The high-purity, low-viscosity emollient is designed to enhance texture, feel, spreadability, and pigment performance in a wide range of personal care and colour cosmetic applications.
Panalane L-2E is lightweight with an elegant skin feel to help formulators achieve smooth, even application with a dry after-feel, and improved overall sensory performance while the hydrogenated structure provides excellent long-term performance and stability.
With a viscosity of 3–5 cSt at 20°C, Panalane L-2E offers exceptional formulation flexibility for use alone or in combination with other emollients to balance film formation.
“The introduction of L-2E provides formulators with another versatile tool to improve both performance and aesthetics as well as to address the growing need for high performance alternatives to silicones in cosmetic formulations” said Gary Gudac, North American Technical Manager at Ineos Oligomers.
“Its ability to spread evenly and quickly, enhance gloss and wet-combing performance in hair care formulations, reduce whitening in anti-perspirants, improve pigment dispersion in colour cosmetics, and contribute to long-wear performance makes it well suited for modern cosmetic and skin, sun, and hair care formulations.”
Panalane L-2E can be used alone or readily combined with other emollients to fine-tune formulation aesthetics, making it suitable for applications such as anhydrous foundations, lip products, sunscreens, antiperspirants, pressed powders, hair care, and skin care products where smooth application and sensory appeal are critical with use levels ranging from 1% to 70%.
