Many factors can contribute to consumers deciding that they need to use products that make a claim for mildness. Stress and pollution can have an impact on levels of skin sensitivity, and now we also have the issue of skin barrier breakdown as a result of an enormous increase in the amount of hand sanitiser we are all applying daily. But even before this, more and more consumers were claiming that they had sensitive skin and were requesting milder formulations to help ensure their skin was kept comfortable.
Ingredient suppliers have been developing a new generation of products that offer formulators high levels of efficacy while ensuring that they deliver their cleansing power in a way that is mild to skin and eyes.
