Solabia completes acquisition of Mibelle Biochemistry

Solabia Group has completed the acquisition of Swiss cosmetic actives maker Mibelle Biochemistry from Spanish personal care product maker Persán.

The French company said the acquisition strengthens its position as a global leader in biotechnology-driven, natural and high-performance active ingredients.

“By combining Solabia’s international footprint and industrial expertise with Mibelle Biochemistry’s recognized innovation capabilities, Solabia will further expand its portfolio and accelerate the development of differentiated solutions for beauty and wellbeing markets,” said a spokeswoman.

Founded in Switzerland in 1991, Mibelle Biochemistry is known worldwide for its pioneering work in plant stem cell technology and modern biotechnology, with a portfolio covering skin beauty, healthy aging, hair care and cognitive support.

Its actives are distributed in more than 50 countries.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
