Symrise secures Chinese patent protection for SymSave H tech

Symrise has secured patent protection in China for its SymSave H technology from the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).

Patent CN116509735B provides exclusive protection for compositions that combine Hydroxyacetophenone with lipophilic components in aqueous systems, covering a broad range of relevant formulation applications.

For customers, this protection creates greater clarity around the originality of the technology and reinforces the value of sourcing it from its developer.

Its robust antioxidant performance helps stabilize cosmetic products and protect formulation quality.

Its soothing capability supports product concepts designed for skin exposed to everyday environmental stressors.

In addition, its contribution to broad-spectrum product protection makes SymSave H a relevant option for formulators looking to combine performance, efficiency, and product protection in one ingredient.

“This is a significant milestone for SymSave H and underscores our long-term commitment to innovation in the global beauty industry,” said Yohanna Sander, VP Global Head of Micro Protection at Symrise.

“It demonstrates our ongoing investment in developing and protecting proprietary technologies that create value for our customers and strengthen our competitive position in key growth markets,” she added.

Since Symrise introduced Hydroxyacetophenone to the cosmetics industry in 2013, the ingredient has become an established multifunctional for modern formulations.

The granted patent in China belongs to a broader international patent family already granted in the United States, Korea, Japan, Brazil, and India.
