India’s Galaxy Surfactants has launched Galsoft SLL (INCI: Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate), a condensation product of lactic acid and lauric acid that it describes as a “100% natural offering for the personal care industry”.
The active can be used in skin care, hair care and baby care products and also to enhance the delivery of ingredients into creams, lotions, baby products, body cleansers, hair cleansers and others.
“It provides an excellent foam profile, improved emollience, moisturisation and sensorial properties in both leave-on and rinse-off formulations – all this while being readily biodegradable,” the company added.
