Aneco launches HPR vitamin A derivative

Aneco has unveiled AC-HPR-W2 SACOS, a 2% water soluble hydroxypinacolone retinoate (HPR) that uses cosolvency technology designed to solve application problem of HPRs in the aqueous system.

The Chinese speciality ingredient maker uses two or more mixed solvents to improve the solubility of some insoluble ingredients.

When each solvent in the mixed solution reaches a certain proportion, the solubility of the ingredient will reach a maximum. It can improve the solubility and the bioavailability of HPR.

HPR is a new generation direct acting retinol. It is one of the most bio-available forms of Vitamin A synthesized from retinoic acid and small molecule pinacol.

HPR is milder and more stable than other forms of vitamin A, and has been expanding its market share in the anti-aging market in recent years, which is likely to replace vitamin A that is widely used.

“Aneco developed AC-HPR (powder with a high purity up to 99%) and AC-HPR-S10 (10% oil soluble HPR, which is more widely used HPR specification in brands) in 2019 and we are the second company to enter the market after Grant. We also have been granted the invention patent for our HPR,” said a spokeswoman.

Advantages of Aneco’s AC-HPR series are said to be: non-irritating; high purity; no convert, enhanced activity; and low molecular weight, easy to absorb.
