Codif Technologie Naturelle describes its newly launched Samphira Oil Bioactive (INCI: Caprylic/capric triglyceride (and) Crithmum maritimum extract) as “a natural and organic certified retinol-like active ingredient”. This is sourced from rock samphire harvested and cultivated on land close to France’s Atlantic coast via the supercritical CO2 extraction process.

Samphira Oil Bioactive acts on the same targets as retinol and improves the thickness of the epidermis and boost collagen synthesis. It does not induce any inflammatory reaction, even if it is applied twice a day, the company said.

Key benefits include a 9.9% increase in skin homogeneity, 25% improvement in skin brightness, a 16% increase in skin suppleness and a 16.5% reduction in crow’s feet wrinkles. As a liposoluble ingredient, it is to be used at 0.25% in global anti-ageing care, nourishing creams and radiance serums.
