Ultrafine polyamide powders

The German company Degussa is launching two products as part of its Tegolon range.

The first, Tegolon 12-10, is an ultrafine polyamide powder for use in colour cosmetics, especially pressed powders and foundations. It is also suitable for nail polishes and aerosols. It is reported to have the lowest water absorption of all commercially available Nylon-12 grades, and is said to enhance the feel of skin by smoothing it and reducing shine.

The particle size is 6 microns. Tegolon 12-20 is also an ultrafine polyamide powder. It can be used in colour cosmetics such as lipsticks, skin care products and sun care products. It combines a soft touch with good absorbtion properties. It is also said to enhance contact time with the stratum corneum and improves ease of application and spreadability. The particle size is 10 microns.
