French cosmetic actives maker Seqens has launched AdvensProtect 8 Green, a 100% bio-based caprylyl glycol multifunctional ingredient.
AdvensProtect 8 Green can be used as humectant, emollient, and preservative booster in skin care, hair care and make-up serums, creams and lotions.
Seqens said its short lipophilic chain will attach to the lipid structures orientating the hydrophobic part of the molecule to the upper skin layers for better moisture retention.
Meanwhile, viscosity regulation improves the sensorial profile, improves pigment dispersion, and adds wetting properties and reduces tackiness of formulations.
A spokeswoman said AdvensProtect 8 Green is also suitable for products “seeking an effective preservative boost with a moisturizing, effect reducing the need for harsh preservatives”.
