Mibelle launches supramolecular calcium anti-ageing ingredient

Mibelle has launched EpiCalsome, an ingredient designed to combat skin barrier disruption and ageing by replenishing calcium levels.

The Swiss company said EpiCalsome is a “superior calcium delivery system that protects and renews the skin”.

The novel technology “encapsulates calcium ions with phospholipids of the highest quality”, which makes calcium optimally bioavailable to the skin, it added.

EpiCalsome features an innovative double cone vector system that encapsulates calcium for a simple and efficient delivery of bioavailable calcium to the skin (patent-pending application).

“The loss of the skin’s calcium gradient is a key driver of barrier disruption and skin ageing…replenishing the skin’s calcium stores may be a way of combatting the aging barrier dysfunction,” a spokeswoman said.

Mibelle claims EpiCalsome also fortifies delicate skin, and prevents skin dryness and irritation.
