Booking opens for in-cosmetics Asia Formulation Lab sessions

Visitors to the in-cosmetics Asia trade show in Bangkok, Thailand this November can now book their spot to attend the prestigious Formulation Lab sessions.

Partnered with Personal Care magazine, Shieling Laboratories, IKA and NSG, this year’s Formulation Lab programme features a series of scientific, expert-led and interactive sessions designed exclusively for R&D professionals looking to develop and improve advanced formulations in APAC and beyond.

Leading the ‘Sun Protection & Plumping: Advanced Suncare Makeup with Natural SPF Booster plus 2HP™ Tech Hyaluronic Hybrid Peptide’ session, Dr. Natcha Wongthongdee, Technical Team Leader at Ashland Singapore, will exemplify APAC’s demand for multifunctional skin care addressing well-ageing and environmental protection through formulating peptides and natural SPF boosters.

Jason Zhang, R&D Director at Cargill Beauty APAC, will present, ‘Improving Texture and Stability in O/W Systems with Optimized Lecithin-Based Co-Emulsifiers,’ addressing the need for stable, high-performance formulations that can withstand Asia’s diverse climates, aligning with the trend for clean and sustainable emulsifiers.

Hailey Sung, Technical Manager – APAC at Grant Industries will demonstrate ‘Hands-On: Zinc-Only SPF-50 Cold-Process Sunscreen Featuring a >95% Natural Ingredient for Luxurious Hydration,’ where attendees will create a zinc-only, SPF 50, cold-process sunscreen featuring natural-origin hydrating sensory ingredients.

Panumart Kadeewee, Technical Manager at Azelis, will present ‘Mild and Mighty: Elevate Cleansing and Foaming Performance in Skin Cleansers,’ a session for attendees to learn how to formulate a cleanser with Emulgade Verde 10 LA, a bio-based polymer that functions as a surfactant, sensory enhancer and foam booster.

On day two, Gaelle Coestesquis, Formulation Manager APAC at Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant will demonstrate how to make a ‘Synergistic Gel Pairing for Stable, Enhanced Formulas,’ offering formulation solutions that combine luxury sensorial experiences with enhanced stability, meeting APAC consumers’ expectation for premium yet effective products.

Closing the lab’s programme on day three, Sean Gahan from Primient Covation willl demonstrate ‘Unlock the Power of One: Simplifying Suncare & Skin Care with Zemea Propanediol,’ echoing the regional shift towards minimalism and multifunctionality with bio-based ingredients that reduce complexity without sacrificing benefits.

The worldwide trend of personalised beauty will be put into action by Kohei Anzai, Scientist, R&D Centre of Nikko Chemicals in: ‘Explore Your Perfect Shade: Personalize Vitamin C Foundation with Hand-Mixed Colour Fitting,’ tackling the growing consumer requirement for bespoke makeup solutions that reflect diverse skin tones and integrate skin care benefits.
