Symrise has successfully completed the first production trials for the specific requirements of its 1,2-alkanediols at the site in Granada, Spain, which it acquired in April 2021.
It has started up the new production line, making both cosmetic ingredients and a broad range of fragrance ingredients from renewable raw materials. In addition, investments have started to set up new production lines for Symrise’s Hydrolite cosmetic multi-functional ingredients.
1,2-alkanediols form a range of multifunctional ingredients that are increasingly going into personal care products. Symrise already produces them at its plants in Holzminden, Germany, and Monterrey, Mexico.
