At NYSCC Suppliers’ Day 2021, Givaudan Active Beauty is presenting new specifications for BisaboLife, which it says is “the purest and sustainable” form of (-)-α-bisabolol. Thanks to an optimised process, this is now offered at a minimum purity of 99%, the highest in the industry today. According to the company, it also has the lowest (<0.05%) farnesol content on the market.
BisaboLife was launched in 2017 and is a fully bio-sourced bisabolol, made via white biotechnology through the fermentation of plant sugars. Givaudan cites clinical tests demonstrating that the active ingredient reduces skin redness by 81% after shaving and soothes scalp irritation by 25%.
