Following last years’ successful launch of the personal care brand KCC Beauty from KCC Silicones and Basildon Chemicals, the next ranges of fine silicone polymers were launched at in-cosmetics Hamburg this year at the brand’s one year anniversary.
SeraSense RB 21 is a new pigment adhesion promoting, frizzy hair reducing, new silicone from KCC Beauty. This new product is a blend of a medium viscosity dimethicone fluid (100cS) and a cross-linked trimethylsiloxysilicate resin. While the main application area for SeraSense RB 21 (INCI:
Dimethicone and Trimethylsiloxysilicate) is as a pigment adhesion promoter in colour and decorative cosmetics, its inherent anti-frizz properties also lend it to use in a variety of hairstyling applications as well such as serums, shampoos and leave-on conditioners. As it is very hydrophobic, it improves the durability and substantivity of personal care formulations with addition levels of 2.5%-5% for colour cosmetic products or 0.5%-5% for anti-frizz hair conditioning applications.
SeraSense SQ 41 is a water soluble gentle wet conditioning new silicone quaternium from KCC Beauty. This latest addition to the range is a specially formulated di-amido silicone quaternium for creating outstanding wet-combing benefits at <1% addition levels. SeraSense SQ 41 (INCI: Silicone Quaternium-8) is both PEG and preservative free, and will disperse freely in most shampoo formulas without negatively impacting foam creation or detergency performance. The presence of amido functionality within SeraSense SQ 41 provides extra flexibility when formulating with anionic surfactants. This product is recommended for conditioning shampoos and for body washes where extra skin softness is required.
Previous launches from the brand include a wide range of other speciality polymers, emulsifiers and emulsions; such as SeraSnow SP 13 a light silky powder designed for mattifying soft-focus effects in wrinkle corrector formulations, SeraSol EL 92 an elastomeric emulsifier for fast breaking creams and serums, and the high organic compatibility volatile silicone polymer SeraSense SF CPM.
