Innovation prize for skin firmer
The BSB European Innovation prize for cosmetics 2010 was awarded in Paris during the incosmetics show. DSM Nutritional Products won the third prize with Syn-Hycan, in the category “Naturals/Actives”.

Symrise has introduced a new product, SymPeptide 226EL, which noticeably strengthens, lengthens and thickens eyelashes in as little as two weeks. Several studies show that the new product helps provide luscious eyelashes with visible results in 2-4 weeks at the recommended use level.

Diversity is key to innovation
Leading lights from the cosmetics industry opened up the in-cosmetics show in Paris with a lively discussion on the subject of innovation. Participating in the forum, entitled ‘Is Innovation in the Cosmetics Industry Dead?’, were Eric Perrier, executive vice president R&D, LVMH; Patricia Pineau, director of research communication, L’Oreal; Nica Lewis, head consultant, Mintel Beauty Innovation and Elisabeth Azoulay, director of Editions Babylone.
Aerosol Directive support

World’s first cyclic peptide for cosmetics
Merck has developed RonaCare Cyclopeptide-5, a new peptide for anti-ageing products. Thanks to its cyclic design, the new peptide is capable of reactivating the decelerated repair processes of mature skin and stimulating its natural regeneration.
