Peas give stem cell protection

Self-regeneration and daily renewal of skin are ensured by stem cells located in the basal layer of the epidermis which continuously interact with their environment. Stem cell activity decreases with age and this leads to skin ageing.

To optimise and preserve keratinocyte stem cell functioning, Silab research proposes Stem-C-Guard, a purified peptide-rich active ingredient from peas: Stem-C-Guard:

• Saves the phenotype of keratinocyte stem cells by increasing their protection and their potential for self-renewal and adhesion.
• Preserves the capacity of progenitor cells to build a functional epidermis.

Under the effect of Stem-C-Guard skin is regenerated, the micro-relief is smoothed and radiance is brightened. Stem-C-Guard can be incorporated in all anti-ageing facial care products.
