Cognis Care Chemicals has announced that 24 personal care products from Cognis have been evaluated and approved for use in personal care formulations that meet the NSF/ANSI 305-2009e standard. NSF/ANSI 305 allows “contains organic ingredients” claims for products with organic content of 70% (O70) or more that comply with all other requirements of the standard.
New products approved
By gaining QAI (Quality Assurance International) approval for 24 products, specialty chemicals supplier Cognis has made it easier and more convenient for manufacturers to gain certification for a final product. Recently approved products include Eumulgin SG (a high performance, anionic emulsifier that is electrolyte compatible, offers good skin compatibility and can be used in hot and cold process skin care formulations at a low recommended use level), Lamesoft PO 65 (a lipid layer enhancer for wash off products that softens and moisturises skin and that can also be used in cold-processable formulations), and Plantacare 818 UP (a mild, non-ionic surfactant with good cleansing and foaming characteristics that can be used in shampoos and body washes).
