Cage release

Istituto Ricerche Applicate (IRA) has launched their Hyalu-Cage System which uses hyaluronic acid (HA) as a mechanism for slow-release of cosmetic actives. .

The system is based on the creation of a cage of HA (which is of biotechnological origin and cross-linked) that encloses the active. In this way the active is protected from the external agents and, thanks to the natural enzymatic degradability of the HA it is gradually released, becoming bioavailable for a prolonged period. The system offers the possibility of being incorporated into any cosmetic formulation, as well as contributing to overall hydration, humectant and filmogenous properties, characteristic of the HA
