Green biocatalytic process

Eastman has unveiled its green biocatalytic process which, the company says, redefines efficiency and sustainability.

The process allows chemists to work solventfree and avoid even trace levels of undesirable solvents in cosmetic products. Eliminated is the environmental impact of disposing of process solvents as waste. James McCaulley, global market development manager, Eastman coatings business, said: “The Eastman green biocatalytic process will help cosmetic and personal care brands reach new levels of sustainability,” and also stated: “At Eastman, we are on the verge of revolutionising the process by which personal care ingredients are made.”
