British scientific equipment supplier Dia-Stron has added hair visual measurement capabilities to its growing global contract testing services.
The move will further support manufacturers in measuring product performance and substantiating claims.
Dia-Stron will leverage advanced instruments from its US subsidiary, Bossa Nova Vision.
The instruments will complement existing single hair fibre and tress testing methods used for claims such as hair strength, repair and protection, combability, and smoothness.
The expanded testing services, ideal for raw ingredient suppliers and final product and hair appliance manufacturers, can be performed on a variety of hair types and adapted to different treatment protocols to assist product development stages and final product release.
Dia-Stron’s application scientists, with their long-established hair experience and expertise, work closely with their clients and recommend testing methods relevant and best suited to sought-after claims.
The Dia-Stron testing services deliver independent and robust data with statistical analysis, conducted in a state-of-the-art testing laboratory in the UK.
Dia-Stron head of applications Dr Rebecca Lunn said: “Claims backed by robust scientific data are key to building consumer trust in products and provide a competitive edge in the market.
“The new Bossa Nova Vision imaging techniques are a great addition to our testing portfolio, enabling Dia-Stron to continue to support innovations and product development in the hair care sector.”
