in-cos Asia to highlight Halal beauty amid rising demand

The in-cosmetics Asia trade show in Bangkok, Thailand next month will shine a light on halal-certified innovation, ethical beauty and the fast-growing halal beauty market.

With halal cosmetics valued at around $50 billion worldwide, the show will spotlight the latest halal-certified formulations and ingredients driving the sector forward.

Regulatory shifts are helping accelerate adoption: in Indonesia, all cosmetics must be halal-certified by October 2026, while Malaysia is streamlining certification processes and tightening enforcement around halal logos.

Regionally, ingredient and labelling standards are being harmonised under the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive, with halal trends gaining traction across multiple markets.

This year, in-cosmetics Asia will showcase how halal cosmetics are reshaping personal care.

Exhibitors from Malaysia, Thailand and the Middle East will present ingredients that reflect growing demand for clean, ethical and inclusive products.

Leading global suppliers including Azelis, BASF, Croda, DSM-Firmenich, Mibelle Biochemistry and Symrise will showcase a diverse portfolio of halal-certified personal care ingredients.

“We’re proud that almost a third of our exhibitors now supply halal-certified ingredients,” said Sarah Gibson, in-cosmetics Asia event director.

“With halal beauty growing rapidly in both consumer demand and industry relevance, this year’s show will offer a wealth of insights and showcase a wide range of innovations, from bioactive and barrier-repairing formulations to antioxidant, UV-protective and multi-functional ingredients,” she added.

“These developments highlight how halal beauty seamlessly blends scientific progress with regional ethical principles."

In addition, in-cosmetics Asia 2025 will feature a wide range of ingredients and seminars, including Marketing Trends Theatre keynote sessions and panel discussions, offering expert insights on halal certification, ethical sourcing, and the cultural trends driving growth in ethical beauty.

in-cosmetics Asia 2025 will also feature a new on-site prayer room on the show floor, complementing existing facilities near Halls 103 and 99, providing a private space for daily Islamic prayers while managing business commitments.

Halal dining will also be available at BUNG Steak Halal Food Café, located next to the prayer room and within easy reach of the Marketing Trends Theatre.

The show takes place on 4-6 November at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC).
