French speciality chemicals Safic-Alcan has acquired a majority stake in Anders, a South America-focused distributor based in Peru.
Established in 1964, the Lima-headquartered company also has offices in Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia and Argentina, as well as operations in Uruguay and Paraguay.
Safic-Alcan said this footprint positions Anders as a truly pan–Latin American player and the perfect complement to the former’s existing operations in Brazil.
“We now have a formidable presence across Latin America, and we look forward to continuing to bring value to our clients and suppliers in the region,” said Safic-Alcan CEO Yann Lissillour.
“With our additional companies in the USA, Canada and Mexico, Safic-Alcan confirms its intention to be a key player in the Americas for years to come,” he added.
M&A manger Marie Graet said: “Their upcoming new technology centre, supported by seven application laboratories, will be another milestone to strive for best-in-class service for customers and principals alike”.
