Japanese manufacturer of speciality ingredients MP Gokyo Food & Chemical has extended a distribution agreement with DKSH into North America.
DKSH will provide business development, marketing, sales, logistics, and distribution services for MP Gokyo’s Tamavisco, a plant-based rheology modifier derived from upcycled tamarind seeds, in the USA and Canada.
Tamavisco is said to be a thickener with a luxurious sensory profile and a unique gelling agent that works as a thin film on the skin to keep it moisturized.
Tamavisco is suited to various personal care applications, such as skincare lotions, serums and creams, gentle body washes and shampoos, premium hair masks and treatments, as well as innovative gel formulations.
A previous deal announced in December 2023 covered ten European countries: Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Hidemitsu Wakita, President and CEO, MP Gokyo Food & Chemical, said: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with DKSH to North America. Our current collaboration in the European market has been successful, built on DKSH’s strong presence and mutual trust.
Michelle Delac, Vice President, Global Personal Care Industry, DKSH, added: “Tamavisco is a premium plant-based solution that perfectly aligns with the sustainability and performance demands of today’s personal care industry.
“We are proud to continue building our relationship with MP Gokyo Food & Chemical and to introduce this outstanding product to our North American customer base through our omni-channel strategy and strong formulation support.”
