Daniel Whitby takes over as SCS President

Smink Laboratories chief scientist Daniel Whitby has assumed his one-year presidency of the UK Society of Cosmetic Scientists (SCS).

Whitby has over 25 years of experience working in the personal care industry and has specialist expertise in formulation, innovation and clinical testing.

He has previously worked with Lake, Alba Science, Cornelius and Boots, and is a part-time lecturer and course consultant at the University of Sunderland for the BSc Cosmetic Science course.

Whitby, who succeeds former CLR Berlin director of global sales and marketing John Lofthouse, is also a regular contributor to industry journals and conferences.

“Many thanks to the SCS for the opportunity to be president of the society for the coming year. What a huge honour,” he posted on LinkedIn.

“Thanks to the exec & council members for the support over the past year in the VP role I look forward to working with you this year and welcome to new council members Amanda Isom, Rinki Pramanik and Daniel Campbell and of course congratulations to Astrid Bodard on becoming the new vice president.”
