Spec-Chem has been awarded an EcoVadis silver medal sustainability rating, ranking the Chinese personal care ingredient maker among the top 15% of the world's rated companies.
EcoVadis evaluated four aspects of Spec-Chem’s working practices: environment, labour and human rights, business ethics and sustainable procurement.
It achieved “excellent results” in all four aspects, the company said, ranking 88th in percentage.
EcoVadis has evaluated over 128,000 companies, covering 220 industries and 175 countries.
“The high score obtained by SC Group in the evaluation is a full recognition of the company's continuous efforts in environmental protection, social responsibility, business integrity and supply chain management,” added Spec-Chem.
“It not only witnesses SC's achievements, but also demonstrates the company's firm belief in promoting sustainable development and building a better future.”
