BRB International subsidiary BRB Singapore has opened a sales office in Seoul, South Korea.
The new facility is located in Hanam, Gyunggo-do in the east of city and will in time house an application laboratory for personal care.
BRB supplies standard and specialty silicone fluids, silicone gum blends and silicone crosspolymers to personal care and other industries in South Korea.
“South Korea has one of the highest consumptions of silicone per capita in the world,” said BRB International CEO Ralph Pinckaers.
“With the opening of our new sales office in Seoul, this brings BRB closer to the market and enable us to respond swifter and better to local demand in South Korea for silicone ingredients,” he added.
In a related development, BRB Silicones South Africa has appointed Lohman Chemicals & Solvents as a sales distribution agent of silicone product portfolio for the personal care, home and auto care industries in Kenya.
Lohman Chemicals and Solvents, founded in 2012, is an independent proprietary chemical trading company distributing solvents, glycols, base oils, phthalates, intermediates and specialties in a variety of packaging in Kenya and other East African countries.
“With the appointment of Lohman, we will be positioned to meet the current and future demands of personal care, home and auto care industries in Kenya,” said Judith Salden, EMEA Sales Leader for BRB International B.V.
“Silicone-based products from BRB provide good synergy with Lohman’s existing range of products,” she added.
