Seiwa Kasei unveils soy ingredient to take the heat off hair damage

Japanese cosmetic ingredients manufacturer Seiwa Kasei has taken the wraps off its Soy Heat Guard product designed to protect hair from heat damage.

The product features a soy protein derivative with thermal protection called Promois WS-HSIGPD (INCI: Hydrolysed Soy Protein PG-Propyl Methylsilanediol and Water).

The Osaka outfit claims the product changes heat damage into heat active power and makes thin and smooth film.

By using soy protein, it adds, it has a superior moisturising effect as well as being China-compliant and Japanese quasi-drug compliant.

“Recently, the demand of plant protein increases due to popularity of natural or botanical concept. And many people use hair dryer and iron on a daily basis, so hair care ingredient including thermal protection effect is also required,” said Seiwa Kasei in a statement.

Soy Heat Guard is designed to be used in shampoo, conditioner or a lotion treatment to protect hair from thermal damage.
