Ultra-Active Scar Gel is a clear, colourless, medium-high viscosity gel from My Skin Authority of Chandler, Arizona. It was created to reduce scarring following surgery, abrasions, debridement, burns, chemical peels, acne and insect bites, while also abating, softening and revising existing scars. It will compete with existing OTC treatments, which are mainly silicone sheets or allantoin-based ointments.
The company cited tests showing daily application to achieve 200% more effective results versus untreated skin. Ultra-Active Scar Gel, it added, is based on “nature’s most active, potent, plant-based skin-healing ingredients as well as potent regenerating peptides” for topical scar management. These include aloe leaf juice, castor oil, olive squalene, rosehip seed oil, palmitoyl tripeptide-5, beta glucan, phenoxyethanol, allantoin, D-panthenol and vegetable glycerin.
