Representatives of Shiseido, Unilever and Proya Cosmetics are among the winners of the in-cosmetics Asia 9 Faces of the APAC Beauty Industry 2025 awards, supported by Personal Care magazine.
The awards honours the beauty innovators, changemakers and unsung heroes who deserve recognition for driving scientific excellence across the industry in Asia Pacific.
The 2025 winners are:
- Dr Alain Khaiat - President, SEERS Consulting
- Danilo Lambino - founder, Formulae 8
- Gaurav Datta - global marketing VP, Unilever
- Hou Juncheng - founder, Proya Cosmetics
- Jin-Oh Park - President & CEO, Daebong LS
- Dr Lee Sung Ho - CEO, Sunjin Beauty Science
- Dr Martha Tilaar - founder, Martha Tilaar Group
- Stacey Fraser – founder, Stacey Fraser & Co
- Yoshiaki Okabe - head of R&D, Shiseido
Following a successful inaugural year in 2024, the awards recognise nine exceptional professionals whose work has made a lasting impact on the growth and evolution of the region’s beauty and personal care industry.
This year’s judging panel was made up of:
- Dr Oliver Hofmann - technical director at Shieling Laboratories & offficial technical advisor to in-cosmetics Asia
- Tim Probert – editor, Personal Care magazine
- Robert McPherson – vice-president, International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists
- Mike Sohn - general manager & principal consultant, REACH24H Korea
The panel reviewed nominations that hailed far and wide across the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore, China, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, India, South Korea, Thailand and Japan.
Each of the 2025 winners represents a unique aspect of the industry, having achieved milestones in product innovation, scientific research, education, sustainability or meeting evolving consumer needs.
Sarah Gibson, event director at in-cosmetics Asia, said: “Now in its second year, the 9 Faces of the APAC Beauty Industry initiative is really about community; celebrating the people working behind the scenes who are making outstanding and influential waves in the industry.
“Our goal is to highlight the professionals whose scientific curiosity and creativity drive the region’s beauty and personal care innovations," she added.
"These individuals are not only developing new ingredients and technologies but also shaping how brands connect with consumers and how the industry evolves. It’s a true privilege to recognise and celebrate this year’s winners, and we are very pleased to congratulate them on their contributions and achievements."
The winners will be presented with their awards at the in-cosmetics Asia trade show, which takes place at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Thailand on 4-6 November.
The event will be co-located with COSMEX, ASEAN’s most comprehensive exhibition on manufacturing technologies, machinery, packaging, and ODM/OEM services for cosmetics and personal care.
