The chemical industry has welcomed the outcome of the House of Commons' votes on Brexit.
Steve Elliott, chief executive of the Chemical Industries Association, said: “Business has long been calling for certainty. While there are still different opinions, a majority of the House of Commons has now delivered a view on the sort of deal that the UK could accept. I welcome this and am pleased to see that the prospect of a no deal outcome to our leaving the EU has significantly reduced, if not disappeared altogether. There is still a lot of work to do both in the UK and then with the EU. We and others will continue helping to get to an agreed deal."
