Cargill launch new beauty platform

With a heritage of more than 150 years in providing nature-derived solutions in food & nutrition, Cargill has the history and resources to support personal care brands. Building on this opportunity Cargill has launched Cargill Beauty, its new innovative platform that will address ingredients challenges of the cosmetic market.

Cargill Beauty’s objective is to become a key partner to help brands fulfil  the new needs of consumers as they become more educated about environmental pressures and seek to make the world a better place by protecting biodiversity and communities. Both more educated and connected, they are shifting their lifestyle and purchase preferences expecting for a true engagement from their preferred brands. 

The approach taken by Cargill Beauty is based on six pillars of scientific expertise; application know-how; exclusive access to sustainable, global & transparent supply chains; unique capabilities valorising by-products; the use of green chemistry and biotechnologies; and finally transposing knowledge from products to sustainable, simple, versatile, safe & affordable systems. 

Cargill Beauty’s portfolio is composed of texturisers, emollients, emulsifiers, sensory enhancers and actives that can be used to develop nature-based products in Skin, Hair, Colour or Oral Care. Examples of the portfolio include an alternative solution to synthetic polymers: Actigum VSX 20, a sustainable, safe, simple, and versatile solution. Also available is an optimised combination of carrageenans: Satiagel VPC 512, a film-former that delivers light to medium hold & curl retention.
