As people are reporting increasing stress levels globally, there has been a rise in the number of natural actives claiming to tackle the effects key stress hormones have on skin, and in particular: cortisol.
One of the new natural ingredients on the market is the microalgae active blend Algaktiv Zen from Spanish ingredient manufacturer Greenaltech. The company has been shown that this new ingredient can block cortisol by binding to the glucocorticoid receptors.
A study conducted by Greenaltech showed that after using a formula containing Algaktiv Zen, the skin appeared younger looking, with a reduction in both wrinkle depth and scaling, along with an improved level of radiance.
