Background

Over 75 years ago, two scientists – Eugene G. Rochow and Richard Muller – independently reported a method for preparing organosilicon compounds on an industrial scale. Commonly known as the Direct Process, the technology paved the way for broad commercial silicone utilisation, including the adoption of silicones as skin care ingredients starting as far back as the 1950s.
