Active targets self-regenerative stem cell technology
Lucas Meyer Cosmetics will unveil its latest release: SWT-7, at the in-cosmetics trade show in April 2015. SWT-7 is an ultra-high tech active designed to rapidly give a smoother looking skin, blur the appearance of vertical wrinkles, skin texture, lip contour wrinkles and roughness, and reduce migration of lipstick.
Advanced medical research is an unlimited source of inspiration for the identification of new biological mechanisms of action applicable to the cosmetic industry. Influenced by the latest discoveries in reconstructive tissue engineering for the treatment of severe burn injuries, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics designed SWT-7: an active ingredient capable of stimulating keratinocyte proliferation to regenerate thin epidermis and to improve the look of aged and wrinkled skin. This never-seen before mechanism of action is based on stem cell science with a cell-to-cell communication between adipose-derived stem cells (ADSC) and keratinocytes through growth factors action.
Titrated in swertiamarin, an iridoid extracted from Indian gentian leaves, SWT-7 is a patented natural high tech anti-ageing ingredient acting through an innovative biomimetic pathway on the reduction of the appearance of wrinkles, especially vertical wrinkles and lip contour wrinkles, in only 7 days. SWT-7 has also proven its efficacy in reducing migration of lipstick.
SWT-7 also comes in a liposoluble version based on a highly innovative technology using phospholipid-based inverse emulsion, easy to add to oil formulas (oily serum, balm), or even to lipstick, which widens the application range of the active ingredient.
“The anti-ageing market segment has become increasingly competitive and saturated, putting a lot of pressure on product development teams to innovate. But this ingredient is a real breakthrough! From the origin of the molecule to the product carrier, or to the never-seen before mechanism of action and the 4 clinical studies showing real improvement in only 7 days, we are truly proud of this latest anti-aging addition in our portfolio,” said Lucas Meyer's Isabelle Lacasse.
