Turkish natural cosmetic active maker Normactive is to showcase its award-winning Chromazone ingredient at the SCS Formulate trade show in the UK next month.
Chromazone is based on an upcycled pomegranate pericarp extract in a liposome-based formulation designed to protect hair against colour bleeding and external aggressors like UV rays.
Normactive says that, with its high affinity to keratin, Chromazone forms a film layer on the hair cuticle and locates itself in the cortex by passing through the cuticle thanks to its submicron particle size.
It is effective both in leave-on and rinse-off formulations, it adds.
Chromazone (INCI: Water, Lecithin, Punica granatum Pericarp Extract) is claimed to offer three times prolonged antioxidant activity compared to Vitamin E with 50% improved hair colour protection compared to commercial benchmark and 25% less colour bleeding compared to control.
Chromazone was shortlisted in two award categories at in-Cosmetic Global 2022 and won a Ringier Technology Innovation Award in the effective ingredients category.
SCS Formulate takes place at the Coventry Building Society Arena on 15-16 November.
