Minerals optimised for colour cosmetics

Based on high purity calcium carbonate, newly launched and Natrue-certified Omyaskin minerals, from Omya, comply with the most stringent regulatory and quality standards.

Thanks to a sophisticated and patented technique, the tailor-made particle composition of calcium carbonate and hydroxyapatite offers high porosity and large surface areas. The outer layer forms a lamellar structure, while the core consists of a network of interconnected pores. This enables Omyaskin to improve the effectiveness of end products and additionally ease the production process. The minerals absorb oil and water so that cosmetic applications feel less greasy, while maintaining hydration. Moreover, the ingredient is an efficient mattifying agent and it reduces drying time. 

Creamy products benefit from better spreadability because their texture is smoother, while compact powder products are enhanced because Omyaskin has compressibility comparable to kaolin, magnesium carbonate and talc. It also offers superior white pigment quality, which supports the coverage of decorative applications. Just ten per cent added to a formula optimises opacity by up to 42 per cent. Omyaskin can also be combined with TiO2 for even higher performance in terms of coverage.
