Solacare Sun Cream SPF 30

This formulation carefully balances the inorganic UV filter, SolaveilTM CT-12W with organic filters to produce a broad spectrum, cost-efficient cream with SPF 30 and one third UVAPF that remains clear on the skin. This is achieved through the biphasal distribution of actives with their efficiency improved through the use of CrodafosTM MCK and SolPerFormTM 100. Crodamol™ SFX provides the formulation with a premium skin feel whilst aiding the solubilisation of the organic filters. This versatile formulation can be easily adapted to achieve different viscosities through altering the level of ViscOptimaTM SE.

Preparation:

Disperse the Veegum Ultra and Keltrol CG SFT in Pricerine 9091 and add water with stirring. Once fully hydrated add the Crodafos MCK with stirring and once homogenous heat to 7580˚C. Combine the Phase A ingredients and heat to 75-80˚C. Add Solaveil CT-12W to water phase with stirring, maintaining temperature. Add oil phase to water phase with stirring. Homogenise for 2 minutes per 300g. Stir/cool to room temperature adding the Phase C ingredients once the temperature is below 40˚C with gentle stirring. It is advisable to add the ViscOptima SE last to allow the SolPerForm 100, preservative and fragrance to become evenly distributed throughout the formulation before modifying the rheology.
