Shanghai business centre planned

Dow Corning is to launch a China Business and Technology Centre in Zhangjiang, Shanghai, China in 2010 to promote innovation in siliconbased materials and technologies, the company announced recently.

Dow Corning was one of dozens of multinational companies and organisations to sign agreements on 20 January with The People’s Government of Shanghai Pudong New Area. The company will move their operations to Pudong New Area later this year. “Pudong welcomes overseas investment to aid the development of one of the most dynamic districts in Shanghai, even in China. We look forward to continued communications with overseas organisations in Shanghai so as to create a better environment for your work and life,” said Jiang Liang, deputy secretary general of CPC Shanghai Committee, and director of Pudong New Area. “Pudong New Area government will continue to focus on the development of overseas investors this year. We will work hard to provide a better investment and commercial environment.” Located in the heart of Shanghai Pudong’s Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, the new Dow Corning China Business and Technology Center will comprise a state-of-the-art technology and development facility and Dow Corning China corporate offices.
