Nikko Chemicals, a Tokyo-based cosmetic ingredients supplier, has established an Indian subsidiary to better serve the local market.
Nikko representative Shogo Sekine said the office, registered in New Delhi, will focus on research, procurement, manufacturing, evaluation, consulting and marketing services, as well as the buying and selling of chemical raw materials for cosmetics, foods and pharmaceuticals.
“We have been distributing raw materials through local network to Indian customers until now, and our new office is designed to further support the local cosmetic industry, providing cutting-edge technology and innovation, in order to grow together with the Indian personal care market,” a Nikkol Chemicals spokesman said.
An opening ceremony for Nikkol Chemicals (India) was held recently in Mumbai.
Nikko parent company Nikkol Group has formulated a new three-year medium-term management plan starting in 2023, and has set the goal of becoming "the No.1 partner in Asia" as one of the pillars of its business strategy.
Japanese-based Nikkol Group has two other affiliates in Asia to support distribution in the region: Nikko Chemicals Shanghai Corporation in China and Nikko Chemicals (Singapore).
“Five countries have been selected as focus areas. We aim to contribute to the development of cosmetic industry by going further and beyond simply supplying raw materials,” the spokesman added.
