Preparation:
NOTE: The Cyclopentasiloxane flash point (DIN 51755) is about 77°C. Avoid sparks, static discharge and open flame! In the main vessel combine 1 through 8, start mixing, and add 9 through 12. Cover vessel to prevent loss of 4 and start heating to 85°C. When above 80°C add 13, 14 and 15, in order, and then add 16 with strong mixing without aeration. Maintain at 85°C for twenty minutes, and then start cooling with prop mixing. When the batch is below 40°C, add 17 as needed to correct for evaporative losses. Continue stirring until a smooth, homogeneous gel. Perform final quality assurance checks.Notes:
