During in-cosmetics Korea 2015, Greentech, a leading innovative active ingredient supplier presented a new solution issued from biotechnologies for anti-ageing care: Reverskin a skin volumator smoothing active.
Reverskin is a global anti-ageing active that reverses the ageing of skin to a young aspect: the skin recovers the volume, structure, radiance and relief of a young skin.
Reverskin has been developed through a high-tech process: this is a purified active fraction issued from a selected tropical fern, especially rich in phytoecdysones and used in the traditional pharmacopoeia for its stimulating properties. Reverskin is a powerful cellular booster, ultra-concentrated in phytoecdysterols.
Reverskin speeds up the creation and stabilisation of the dermo-epidermal junction (DEJ). The cohesion between dermis and epidermis is enhanced. The DEJ is stronger and the skin is firmer and more elastic.
In vitro, an original model of reconstructed skin (dermis and epidermis) - a chimeric model made of cells from donors of different ages (young/old) - has been used. Reverskin stimulates epidermal renewal by increasing proliferation of basal cells by 3.3 and differentiation by 5.3 at 0.2%, in comparison to control cells.
The epidermis becomes more stratified - more quickly - and recovers the voluminous density of a young skin. The stratum corneum gets its perfect cohesion back and works as a strong barrier again.
In addition, Reverskin stimulates the increase in major skin key components:
• Collagens IV and VII: markers of cutaneous resistance and firmness,
• Laminin 5: link factor, showing resistance of the DEJ and skin cohesion,
• Perlecan: anchorage factor that stabilises the DEJ, for skin firmness and elasticity.
Finally, the epidermis is regenerated, denser and thicker and retrieves the volume of a young skin. The horny layer’s cohesion is optimum - so the skin is better moisturised: hydration level is increased with Reverskin 2% by 3.5 at D28 versus placebo.
Skin micro-relief and texture are greatly improved, the cutaneous isotropy - the orientation of skin micro-relief lines - is increased by 16% at D56.
Indeed, skin treated with placebo shows preferential orientations of the superficial lines and this reflects the micro-relief of an aged skin. On the contrary, with Reverskin all lines of the micro-relief have different orientations, as a young skin.
So, Reverskin restores the micro-relief of a young skin.
Reverskin rejuvenates skin by regenerating it more efficiently, faster and better, from stem cells to the stratum corneum surface:
• It re-densifies dermal extracellular matrix
• Strengthens dermo-epidermal junction
• Increases epidermal thickness
• Restores the horny layer’s cohesion by restructuring the epidermis
Restructured, the skin is more elastic, supple and firmer. Skin surface is re-organised and hence fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed.
