Conventional formulations can irritate the eyes when the UV absorber responsible for sun protection migrates to the skin’s surface. Sun protection products containing the film-former Baycusan® C 1000 are highly suitable for use on sensitive skin.
They reduce the migration of UV absorbers to the skin’s surface and help sunscreens not to run into the eyes. High protection sun care products may even contain lower amounts of UV absorbers thanks to Baycusan® C 1000 SPF boosting property. The coemulsifying ability of Baycusan® C 1000 also allows reducing or eliminating presence of the emulsifiers typically used in sun care products.

Covestro is developing formulations with a soft focus effect that hides wrinkles thanks to another polyurethane raw material, Baycusan® C 1005. Combined with film former Baycusan® C 1004, optical reduction of fine lines is enhanced as Baycusan® C 1005 will best and uniformly cover skin.
