City Defense Lotion

This water-in-oil sunscreen lotion provides broad spectrum (SPF/PFA ≤ 3), label SPF 50 performance without using organic UV filters. HallBrite® BHB in HallBrite® EZ-FLO ZDX aids wetting and dispersion of the Zinc Oxide and contributes to enhanced product feel. This formula was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~53, PFA (PPD) ~18 (PA++++), performance with critical wavelength 379nm.

Preparation:

Add phase A to the main vessel and start mixing. Add phase B and heat to 80°C. Add phase C and mix until uniform. Add phase D to a secondary vessel and start mixing. Add phase E items in order. Heat to 80°C. When both phases are homogenous at their designated temperature, start homogenizing phase ABC. Very slowly add phase DE. Begin cooling to room temperature. When batch is below 50°C, add phase F. Continue mixing until uniform and at target temperature.
