Award-winning skin tone regulator

Induchem was praised by the entire cosmetic industry for its new ingredient Brightenyl at in-cosmetics in Barcelona. The in-cosmetics’ Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Award honours the development of novel actives or functional ingredients that successfully combine scientific superiority, formulation benefits for manufacturers and efficacy for consumers when compared to other products currently available on the market.

Over 80 ingredients from leading suppliers were judged this year by a new independent panel of industry experts including:
Tomonbu Ezure, PhD, Shiseido Research Center, Japan
Alain Mavon, PhD, Skin Research Director, Oriflame, Ireland
John Jimenez, PhD, Senior Skin Care Scientist, Belcorp, Bogota, Colombia
Ruandro Knapik, Senior Skin Care Researcher, Grupo Boticario, Brazil
Amy Fu, Senior R&D Chemist, H2O Plus, US
Linda Marshall, President, Elysee Scientific Cosmetics, US

The judges awarded the Gold prize to Induchem for its scientific innovation, the use of green chemistry and the demonstrated efficacy of Brightenyl that offers real benefits in formulation.
“Winning this third award in an outstanding acknowledgment of our innovation strategy for the cosmetic market,” said Fabrice Lefèvre, global scientific marketing manager at Induchem. “Our industry is moving fast, driven by end-consumers’ demands, who are looking for real benefits, as seen in esthetic medicine or plastic surgery. Therefore, Cosmetic brands expect highly efficient, multi-functional and safe ingredients from suppliers. Brightenyl, as our previously awarded ingredients Neodermyl in 2013 and Redensyl in 2014, is a perfect answer to this market request. It does not only highlight years of fundamental research and biological evaluations: it also combines a completely novel cornerstone for our industry (the functional discovery of the stratum microbium) with a perfect safety profile, and fast visible results in terms of skin tone uniformity and luminosity, one of the biggest expectation from all consumers worldwide. The way we develop ingredients is quite unique, as we follow a scheme very close to pharmaceutical companies, and this additional recognition by independent industry experts once again validates the success of our creativity and understanding of the cosmetic market.”

Brightenyl is the very first cosmetic active ingredient that is activated by a newly discovered functional layer of the human skin: the stratum microbium. This layer acts as an active living veil converting Brightenyl in two molecules, which act on seven biological targets to obtain a perfect skin complexion.

Brightenyl has been created according to the pharmaceutical development processes: an active core (THBA) has been optimised by biotechnology process to generate a stabilised and bioactive-able compound through rational design. This compound has been synthesised with cutting edge green manufacturing processes, and further evaluated through complete in vitro and ex vivo tests to understand its multiple modes of action. It has then been tested on Asian volunteers in double blind versus placebo conditions under the control of a dermatologist, and demonstrated several benefits: antioxidant, UV protection, brightening, redness reduction, UV spot reduction, and pigmented spot removal.
